The Bull Island Action group had the pleasure of hosting a group of young Spanish students who helped clean Dollymount Beach on Tuesday 9th July 2019.

Over 20 students hosted in Ireland by AGBTrips  helped pick up litter from both the beach and the sand dunes area. The students are in Ireland as part of a study abroad program between Spain and Ireland.

A barbecue left behind on the beach in July 2019.

Luckily for the students, the beach was quite clean so after searching for rubbish the group engaged in some beach games with our pitchforks.

The group collected 2 full bags of rubbish from the far end of Dollymount beach just past the lifeguard station. Sustained cleaning of the beach by volunteers has seen a huge reduction of visible litter on the beach and in the dunes area. The students were surprised with how clean the beach is.
